Airwars assessment

Multiple locations in Yemen were struck by US-UK airstrikes on 4 October, 2024; the strikes were reported to have injured four people, according to the Ministry of Health as communicated by local sources.

The strikes reportedly hit Sanaa, Hodeidah, and Dhamar governorates, according to multiple local sources. One of the strikes was reportedly targeting “a tunnel” of Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, according to @D700my990. A tweet from @SULTANAH___KSA identified “Houthi Al-Katheeb naval base in #Hodeidah, Houthi military workshops in the maintenance camp in Sana’a, Hodeidah International Airport, Yemeni Dhamar Governorate” as locations hit by US-UK airstrikes.

Several pictures showing plumes of smoking rising above the Sanaa skyline were shared on social media.

Multiple sources reported that the US and UK were responsible for carrying our strikes on Sanaa. However, as the Ministry of Health was the only original source of the information regarding civilian harm, this incident has been graded as “weak” civilian harm.

Several images posted by source @SULTANAH___KSA have not been archived within this incident as they have been identified as images relating to different events in Yemen.

The local time of the incident is unknown.
