Airwars assessment
On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, the body of a killed civilian was extracted from the rubble in Asaad Al-Asaad Street in the Shiyah area of Beirut, Lebanon.
General Directorate of Lebanese Civil Defense reported this event in two different Facebook posts, emphasizing that the search for the missing person was carried out in the framework of the tasks of the General Directorate of Civil Defense in the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities as a result of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.
The images attached to one of the posts showed the rescue efforts – an excavator loosening the debris and rubble surrounded by the volunteers.
The exact date and time of the civilian’s death are unknown, but the civilian was likely killed on one of the days preceding November 27th, when a ceasefire agreement was signed between Israel and Lebanon.
As only one source reported the civilian casualties and attributed the civilian harm to the Israeli military, Airwars has graded the strike status of the incident as a “single source claim” and the civilian harm status as “weak.”
The local time of the incident is unknown.
