In the early evening of 1 November 2024, “a number” of Palestinian civilians were killed in an airstrike reportedly conducted by the Israeli military. The airstrikes hit Al-Rafi’i school, which houses displaced persons, in Jabalia in the North of Gaza. Information regarding their identities was not made public.
Several independent sources online, such as ShehabAgency, Radio Network-ARN, TeN News, and Radio Alam, confirmed the location of the airstrike via Facebook and X/Twitter as the Al-Rafi’i School in Jabalia Al-Balad.
Sajeia Ikhbaria on Facebook confirmed that the event took place on Friday evening, including a photo of a decimated building with displaced Palestinian persons (one adult woman and six children) walking in front of it.
One source, Facebook user Jihad Taha, claimed that the strike did not result in casualties, having hit “a house next to Al-Rafei School […] not the school.” There were, Taha reported, “no martyrs or injuries.” No other source corroborated this information, and all other reports of the strike alleged both deaths and injuries.
To account for ambiguity, Airwars has categorised this incident with a range of 0-2 fatalities, and 0-2 injuries.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.

Geolocation notes
Reports of the incident mention the Al Rafei School (مدرسة الرافعي) in Jabalia Al Balad (جباليا البلد), for which the generic coordinates are: 31.525062, 34.484781. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
