One woman died in an alleged Coalition airstrike on Al Raqqa al Samra on the eastern outskirts of Raqqa city, according to local sources.
In an incident not previously tracked by Airwars, on September 1st 2017 the Coalition said it had concluded an assessment on social media claims of civilian harm “near Mosul, Iraq”. A local source told Airwars’ Iraq-based field researcher that two of his family members died in the Bab Lakash neighbourhood of Mosul, after Coalition airstrikes allegedly targeted their house at 3pm in the afternoon while they were praying. The family member provided Airwars with the names of the casualties.
Local sources named Hassan Aliya aka Abou Ammar as dying from wounds sustained in “artillery shelling” at the junction of 23rd February Street and Saif al Dawla Street. Sources did not identify who was responsible for the shelling, however, the Coalition has informed Airwars that the SDF is not using artillery (only heavy mortars).
One civilian male was killed in alleged Coalition airstrikes in Raqqa city, according to a local report. He was named as Ahmed Ali and a picture was provided. No further details are presently known.
An unspecified number of civilians died and were wounded in an alleged Coalition airstrike on Raqqa’s Al Bayatra neighbourhood, local media reported. According to Almanar, “a number of civilian casualties were caused by a new massacre carried out by US aircraft during the targeting of Al-Bayatra neighbourhood”. All other sources also pointed to the Coalition.
Two civilians were reportedly killed in alleged Coalition airstrikes on Al Sakiya Street to the north of Raqqa. The Revolutionary Forces of Syria Media Office reported that the pair were brothers, but none of the sources was able to identify the victims. All sources alleged that the Coalition was responsible.
